Artist Bio

Kyle Jorgenson, is an artist based out of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey and is the artist behind the company “K. Jorgs Art.” Kyle creates art for his own mental sanity. As some who has battled with depression and anxiety, Kyle uses his art making as a tool to bring him peace of mind. Kyle’s artwork is inspired by his own thoughts, lived experiences, and emotions that he finds himself fixating on. He is unable to release his fixation until he creates art about them. “My art is extremely personal to me because it is my tool that brings me closure and puts the voices in my head at ease.” Kyle says, “Oftentimes, viewers of my artwork are able to connect with my work on a deeper level because it is honest and personal to me. Viewers are able to project their own lived experiences onto my work using it as a vessel to bring themselves closure as well.” Kyle’s artwork is about bringing people together by allowing individuals to see themselves in another’s human experience.

Kyle’s art style is easily identifiable for its graphic, bold, and detailed imagery. His work is layered with meaning and carefully curated to communicate the message behind each piece. Kyle oftens plays with the strong contrast of black and white subject matter against colorful detailed backgrounds. He finds that the strong contrast is confrontational, causing viewers to be drawn in for a closer look to create their own closure and understanding for the piece. Kyle often uses humanoid Keith Haring esk figures in his work. “I try to avoid using specific people's likeness in my art work unless the specificity helps further the narrative of the artwork. By using humanoid figures in my art work it allows the viewer to project their own narrative onto my artwork and they are able to see themselves in my work,” Kyle states. Nothing is unintentional in Kyle’s artwork, his work is thought out and done with the purpose of communicating his point of view. Kyle has two distinct art making processes. One way is he will have an image in his head that haunts him until he is able to bring it to life. The second way Kyle makes art is he goes in with no set ideas and allows his emotions and internal dialogue to guide him as he allows his color choices, mark making, medium, and creative process to guide him.

“As a person, I make it a point to be as open, genuine, and honest with everyone that I meet.” Kyle brings this same mentality to his artwork. “ In my art, I am able to be authentic and share with people my thoughts and emotions that I do not often feel comfortable with bringing up in conversations,” Kyle mentions. He believes that his vulnerability and honesty show through his artwork and the reasons viewers are able to find comfort in his artwork. By seeing Kyle open up about his own experiences it gives the viewer permission to do the same and process their own lived experiences in the efforts of finding closure. For this reason, Kyle makes art with the purpose of working on himself by confronting his own demons and in turn giving someone else motivation to do the same. For comfort, closure, and artwork with a deeper meaning, that is why people seek out K. Jorgs Art for original artwork.
